Okay, the festival is here. How does one go about getting the Masqueing quality?

Alright! Getting Masquing is mostly the same as last year, but there are some new options and some old ones have been (unfortunately) nerfed a bit.
First off, the main way to get Masquing is Rose-Gifts. Try finding someone to exchange gifts with!
Once you’ve received a gift, wait for the Lilac card to turn up. This card lets you trade in your gifts for Masquing.
Non-Fatelocked gifts give 1 or 2 points of Masquing, up as far as 25-27 ish. Fatelocked gifts that cost 5 Fate give 3 Masquing, up to 27-28. After that, the amount of Masquing acquired from Fate gifts is equal to their Fate cost. So a Golden Rosary gives 40 Masquing, a Well-Song 50, and so on.
Besides that, you can also try for Rare Successes at Mrs Plenty’s Carnival. Every option besides the Exceptional Rose one can give Masquing on rare success. The Wheel of Affection gives 1, the Devilled Hearts give 2, and Dancing can give 3! However… those options cap at 20 this year, unlike last year where you could reach 100 Masquing through sheer grit and effort and lots of scandalous dancing. I’d recommend using the Wheel option, at least; you have a 20-30% chance of getting a Gift of Scorn, which can be traded for 1 Masquing with Lilac
Finally, the Feast of the Rose opportunity card provides a number of different short stories and options, almost all of which give a point of Masquing or two. However, these options also apparently cap at 20…
There may well be other Masquing options to come or yet to be discovered! But, for now, you’re probably not going to be able to get the 40, 80 or 100 Masquing pets without some Fate Expenditure.
Expect a post on the stats and costs of the different Feast Companions a little later today.
